In view of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Allahabad High Court on Monday extended the life of interim orders in the State of Uttar Pradesh until January 5, 2021.
On Monday, the Bench of Justices Munishwar Nath Bhandari and Piyush Agrawal opined that the position remains the same as on October 20, when the last such order was passed.
Therefore, the Court has extended the operation of the October 20 order until January 5 next year.
The Bench said,
"A Suo Moto cognizance pertaining to the interim orders and limitation expiring during the period of lock down due to COVID-19 was taken by this Court. A detailed order in reference to interim orders and even limitation expiring during the period of COVID-19 was passed from time to time."
The Court will now review the situation on Tuesday (5th January).
