The CLAT 2020 examination for both UG and PG candidates scheduled for 7th September, 2020 has been postponed to Monday, 28th September, from 2 to 4 PM.
Executive Committee of the Consortium of National Law Universities held a meeting on August 27, to review the precautionary measures taken in respect of the COVID-19 pandemic and following situation all over the nation.
Like all other major national-level entrance exams, CLAT has been postponed multiple times this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Committee assessed the prevalent situation of lock down in numerous regions of India, notably state of West Bengal and Bihar which are still on lock down also taking into account the safety of nearly 70,000 aspirants for the entrance exam.
For the first time, the respective exam will now be conducted in online computer-based, centre-based mode; previously it was conducted in pen-and-paper mode. Such changes were made in account of the current pandemic, as following the offline mode exam will endanger lives while handling of question papers or answer scripts.
In result of the meeting, the Consortium decided to reschedule the CLAT 2020 examination to 28th September for UG and PG candidates. Notice for the same was issued on Friday by Convenor, Professor Balraj Chauhan.
